Drive & Shoot!

The Atlanta Police Foundation, with the help of the Atlanta Police Department, will host the 5th annual Drive and Shoot, an event that allows you to become part of the force behind the force! The Drive and Shoot is a unique opportunity for individuals to experience, first hand, the rigors of police training. The dynamic training consists of firearms range shooting, an interactive firearms training simulator, running the obstacle course, a car skid simulator, and training with SWAT. It is an exciting way to enhance team building and camaraderie as well as improve relations with the Atlanta Police Department. The event includes lunch, dinner and an awards ceremony.

The Atlanta Police Foundation believes that public safety is one of the cornerstones of a healthy community. The Atlanta’s Finest 5K Race presents the Foundation and the APD a unique opportunity to publicly promote the importance of both physical fitness and public safety. Each year officers run alongside nearly 900 Atlantans to emphasize the role that exercise and a healthy lifestyle play in their ability to perform the duties of their jobs.

The day features a Gumshoe Gallop, a fun race especially for children that precedes the 5K Race. Participants will also visit with the Mounted Patrol, SWAT, Bomb Squad, the Command Unit and other APD special units. The event gives families the opportunity to participate in a physically rewarding activity together while reinfourcing the value of Police Officers.
